Vote by mail
In New Jersey, a civilian absentee voter is defined as any qualified and registered voter of the state who wants to vote by absentee ballot. You can vote by mail (VBM), for any reason, through Election Day.
An absentee ballot is an official ballot that is sent through the mail. You obtain one by filling out an application. If you apply for an absentee ballot you must vote by absentee ballot; you cannot complete the application process and then decide to go to the polls on Election Day. Voting by absentee ballot is just as valid as going to the polls.
